Stina – Caribbean

Stina Herberg is the director of Richmond Vale and SVG Horse School. She had horses as a hobby for many years and trained “troubled” and “shut down” horses. After taking up a new work challenge in the small island of St. Vincent, she ran into the herd of wild, abandoned and abused horses, which challenged her to find new ways of training and understanding horses.

From the end of 2007 till the beginning of 2014, Stina studied Liberty training, natural horse management and sustainable horse keeping.

In 2011 and 2012, Stina developed a way to start riding her wild horses at liberty. She produced 20 short videos “Riding at Liberty” documenting the journey of starting three of her horses under saddle in a beautiful partnership.

On her journey with horses she has studied, taken courses and worked with several horse people like Christina Holmbaeck (Bent Branderup), Maiken Lysholm Steen (Clicker Training), Carolyn Resnick, Kresney Craft (Parelli), Jonna McCabe (Western riding), Joergen Anker (Jamie Jackson), Claus Joergensen (Peter Ramey), Christina Keppie (Strasser) and she has learnt many lessons from Lennart Oestblom, a highly skilled Scandinavian horse scientist and veterinarian.

Stina was born in 1968 in Rjukan, Norway and have worked with development and environment work in several countries in the world including Angola, Mozambique, Denmark and USA. She speaks Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, German, Portuguese, English and can understand and read Spanish, so you are welcome to email her in any of these languages.
